Ukraine Invention Convention (UKRIC) is a new national platform that is shaping a modern ecosystem of youth invention in Ukraine.

On September 1, Ukraine Invention Convention (UKRIC) opened registration for the UKRIC Inventors Cup 2026/7 — an annual competition for high school students, where young inventors turn bold ideas into real innovative solutions.

Ukraine Invention Convention was created based on the model of the Connecticut Invention Convention (USA), which has been helping students become inventors for more than 43 years. The Ukrainian program teaches the full journey from identifying a problem to creating a working prototype and presenting it, developing critical and engineering thinking, entrepreneurial skills, and the ability to work on real-world challenges.

The first pilot project of UKRIC, implemented in 2025-2026 in Donetsk region, proved the effectiveness of this approach. Despite difficult security conditions, students created their own inventions to solve pressing wartime problems. And most importantly — three out of five global Dassault Systèmes awards, for which about 50 thousand young inventors from different countries around the world competed, were won by Ukrainian students. After that, five participants presented their developments in the United States of America.

What awaits participants?

The training will last four months and will be based on an international invention methodology. Participants will work through a seven-step model: from problem identification and research to creating a prototype, testing, and the final presentation. Professional engineering tools will be used for the work, including the Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Winners of the national final will have the opportunity to represent Ukraine on the international stage and travel to the USA.

We invite students in grades 9–11 from:

• Dnipropetrovsk region;
• Donetsk region;
• Zaporizhzhia region;
• Luhansk region;
• Mykolaiv region;
• Odesa region;
• Sumy region;
• Kharkiv region;
• Kherson region;
• Kyiv region and the city of Kyiv.

UKRIC Inventors Cup 2026/7 calendar

• September 1–20 — registration for open lectures to get acquainted with the program and invention methodology (an important stage for successful further participation in the program)
• September 21, 23, and 25 — open online lectures for registered participants
• September 26 – October 6 — submission of invention ideas for the competition
• October 7–16 — expert selection and announcement of the 50 finalists
• October 2026 – January 2027 — training program and work on their own inventions
• February 2027 — Ukraine Invention Convention National Final in Kyiv
• March–April 2027 — trip of the five winners to the USA to present their own inventions at an international event
