The problem

Why Марія Рожкова created the PillsBox.

Every person has faced the problem of taking certain medicines on time, especially when there are many of them and each one needs to be taken at a specific time. This is especially familiar to elderly people. Of course, you can write it down somewhere: in your phone, on a piece of paper stuck to the fridge, or placed somewhere visible. There are also certain apps that can remind you to take your medicine in some way. But all these methods do not always fulfill their functions in full. This is especially true for phones, since not everyone can afford such a device; usually, apps require an Internet connection, which also causes problems for many people. Another significant nuance is that using apps that remind you, set a medication schedule, etc., requires a paid subscription, and signing up for it can also be a problem. So what is needed is a device that works independently of the network, is easy to set up, and causes no problems for people with certain limitations in terms of use and purchase.

A small reminder is a big care.

The invention

How the PillsBox works.

The organizer, which consists of 3+ compartments, is connected to a control unit that holds all the information about the schedule for taking specific medications in specific compartments, as well as the number of pills, calculated based on the weight of a single pill (for example, if one pill weighs 0.3 g, then 30 pills weigh 9 g), etc. The device detects that medication has been taken by the decrease in the initial weight in the compartment. This unit has an audio output through which a voice announces when it's time to take medication. This unit has a screen that displays all the necessary information. Example: The organizer is connected: compartment A, compartment B, compartment C to the control unit. The screen displays: A: how many times a day the medication needs to be taken (this is also announced by voice from the same unit). Next to it, the value 00:00 is shown, with the first two zeros underlined, representing the hours. The unit has a large, brightly colored button attached; pressing the button once changes the value of the set hours or minutes. That is, one press changes the hour value to 01:00. The rest of the process works the same way. After setting the time, a new value appears: A: how many times a day? And the user does the same as before — presses the button as many times as needed until the required number appears. This is again duplicated by voice. This is done for all connected compartments. Once the setup is complete, the device announces medication

Behind the control unit there is a wheel (like on a mouse) for decreasing or increasing the volume.
