Competition information

On September 1, Ukraine Invention Convention (UKRIC) opens registration for the UKRIC Inventors Cup 2026, an annual competition for high school students who turn ideas into working inventions.

UKRIC follows the model of the Connecticut Invention Convention, which has taught schoolchildren invention skills in the US for more than 43 years. Participants go from identifying a problem to building a prototype and presenting their invention to a jury and developing engineering and entrepreneurial thinking.

The 2026 pilot project in Donetsk region proved the approach works. Despite security risks, students created inventions to address wartime challenges. Three of five Dassault Systèmes global awards went to Ukrainian students, and five participants presented their projects in the United States.

Over the next four months, participants will follow a seven-step invention process: identify a problem, research it, develop an idea, build and test a prototype, and present the solution. They will also work with engineering tools, including the Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Winners of the national final will represent Ukraine at an international competition and travel to the United States.
